Two-Day Adolescent Programme for Girl Students:

Building life skills, health knowledge and gender sensitivity in adolescents, in convergence with the National Health Mission.

The programme equips adolescents — girl students especially — to make informed decisions about their health, education and well-being. Master trainer teachers were trained in two batches, Valley and Hills districts, then carried the same training into their own schools as district-level awareness sessions.

Maa-Beti Sammelan — Honouring Mothers and Daughters Together:

"If the mother is educated, the whole family is educated." Class toppers from VI–VIII and their mothers, honoured side by side.

Class VI – VIII · District-run, every year

The programme was built to honour both the mother and the girl child: meritorious class-topper girls from every school in the district were nominated, and the best among them received a presentation for their mother and a cash prize for themselves, at a one-day district event run with the SMCs/SMDCs.

With schools often far from home and journeys made on foot or by public transport, every girl student is taught the art of self-defense — training that also builds personality, confidence and moral boosting alongside physical safety.

Training was delivered by the Manipur VOVINAM Association and Manipur Martial Arts and Aerobic Association, with the Zonal District Office hiring venues and running classes after school hours so normal learning was undisturbed. All girl students of classes VI–VIII were covered.

Ahanba Khongthang — the teacher handbook: Built on the National Curriculum Framework for the Foundational Stage, which guides children aged 3–8 under NEP 2020's 5+3+3+4 structure. The handbook covers the significance of ECCE, early-childhood learning approaches, assessment strategies, building conducive learning environments, and the role of the primary teacher — with exemplar activities throughout.

Written to shift pre-school assessment away from rote-memorisation testing toward something formative and comprehensive — gathering evidence on knowledge, skill, attitude and ability across every domain of development, and sharing it with parents through observation and portfolios.

Alongside the handbooks, pre-school classrooms received teaching-learning materials and child-friendly furniture, plus Building-as-Learning-Aid (BALA) features — walls, staircases and railings turned into everyday teaching tools children encounter throughout the school day.

PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024:

India's national learning survey, conducted 4 December 2024 to measure progress against NEP 2020 across the Foundational, Preparatory and Middle stages.

Grade 3, 6 and 9 students across government, government-aided, private-unaided and central schools were assessed on paper, using OMR technology — 45 items for Grade 3, 51 for Grade 6, 60 for Grade 9.

Top-Performing Districts:

Kangpokpi led Grade 3 with an average score of 77; Senapati topped both Grade 6 (63) and Grade 9 (47). Scores are the average across every subject assessed at that stage.

Manipur outperformed the national average at Grade 3 and Grade 6 in every subject, and ran close behind it at Grade 9 — consistent with a system whose gains are concentrated in the earlier foundational years.
